UnitedStreaming
Fairview has been using UnitedStreaming an awesome resource for videos for the last two years. Now that UnitedStreaming is adding components and additional resources we need to help each other find ways to effectively use this resource. At our in-service we went through some basics. Part of our group investigated some additional features such as embedding videos in PowerPoints. The comment area of this webpage will allow us to share some of our ideas.
If you have difficulty using any part of UnitedStreaming, please let me know. I may not have the answer but I do have resources to get an answer.
I am looking for 15 comments by December 15th as to one thing you did as a follow-up to our workshop together.

Thanks Ann. Now that I’ve had a little time to play with it, I look forward to actually using it. Technology is wonderful … when it works!

The info. in united streaming was interesting but I’m not sure how to fit it into what I do with my students. The activities I plan are based on IEP goals and given that I only have a half hour of therapy time with each group and do not have student computers ( except for an old G-3 desktop) I am not sure how much I will be able to use United Streaming but I can say that as a parent I am gratified to see the wonderful resources available for students these days! I have only had a few chances to continue previewing the media available. I think the in-service time was too short to be practical and the site is too vast to just dive in. I also left thinking that our staff is at so many different levels of learning and using technology that offering this type of in-service to a mixed group was difficult. I hope to create a presentation that fits a future expectation for a unit next semester.
